Condominium insurance is a form of property insurance that covers the owner of a condominium, including their personal property and liability against accidents that occur in the unit. A condominiums home owners association has a master insurance policy for the shared areas of the building (roof, stairwells, etc) but this policy does not cover the inside features of each unit such as the interior walls, fixtures, floors, furniture, etc. Therefore, it is very important for a unit owner to obtain an homeowners policy also known as an HO-6 policy in the event of a loss.
